Hi, we are Mel and Sally Harrison and we love to travel around in our motorhome.
When
we were younger, we were both in the armed forces and were fortunate enough to
travel to various countries through work and pleasure. We met in Belgium, became best friends and
married 2 years later. We continued to travel and have had some great holidays
with our 2 children.
We
brought our first motorhome (Hilda) 4 years ago; a 2005 Swift Sundance. Not knowing whether we would like the concept
of motorhoming, we ventured across to the Lake District for a few weekends to
get the measure of it all. We then ventured further to France and Spain for 3 weeks
and have never looked back – enjoying the freedom of the open road! We
bought our second motorhome 2 years ago, a brand-new 4-berth Sun Living (named Sonny)
and have since travelled to Belgium, France, Germany, Austria and Luxembourg.
For
the past 2 years we have dreamed and talked of retiring, leaving it all behind
to travel around Europe, North Africa, Scandinavia and beyond. Last month, part one of the dream came true
when we retired, Mel aged 58 and Sally 55. Part 2 starts on 27 December 2016 and the adventures will begin as we
leave
our daughter’s house in Darlington and travel down to Spain to spend 2
months with our son in Punta Umbria, Andalusia. From here we will travel into Gibraltar and
across to Morocco.
After that we plan to
visit as much of Europe before having to return to the UK, December 2017. We have decided not to make a plan/itinerary
but travel where the mood takes us. Year 3 we plan to visit Scandinavia.
To
fund the trip, we have rented our house out and are lucky enough to have a few
pensions. We have set ourselves a daily
budget and a note to selves “we are not on holiday everyday so go easy on the alcohol” We’ll have to see how that one goes! The plan
is to see as much as we can and embrace each country’s culture at a nice
leisurely pace.

Good Luck!
Terry
Thanks Terry for your kind words. We saved hard for years to be able to buy our motorhome and it has been worth every penny. We have had a lot of fun along the way and made some incredible memories. Fingers crossed that you get that Lotto win and manage to get to do this one day. Sally x
